There are many different styles of wedding rings on the market today from traditional styles through to very unique customized rings. Wedding rings are an important piece of jewelry; however, they aren’t the final ring in the set in many cases. Eternity rings are a popular gift that is added to the wedding set years after the happy day.

Eternity rings differ from anniversary rings in that they are typically given at any special event or date after the wedding rings. Often anniversary rings are given on a special anniversary such as a milestone anniversary, although anytime after the couple has exchanged wedding rings is a possibility.

There are several styles of both eternity and anniversary rings. A very popular style is a half eternity ring which includes a channel style setting and several medium to smaller sized diamonds or other precious or semi-precious stone, typically in keeping with the gems on the wedding rings.

The benefit to the half eternity ring style is that it will match with any style of wedding rings since it is a rounded or flat band and will sit level with the other bands in the set. Since the diamonds don’t protrude from the ring they are comfortable to wear and can be easily resized as needed.

Wearing all three rings, the wedding rings and the eternity or anniversary ring, together is very popular and makes a striking presentation. For those that want a bit more dazzle to a plain wedding band, the eternity ring can be worn in the plain band’s place some or all of the time.
